Ring Christmas bells

So that’s almost it for another year…

By the very talented Alex Hughes

We ended the term with a very busy December!  On Thursday 10th December we joined the Birmingham Unison branch for an event to commemorate the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Here is a beautiful summary of the event:

Thanks so much for last night at the Unison Birmingham Branch’s Human Rights event. Your singing was beautiful, truly carolling like a lark.

And it was particularly great to share together with you and all those attending the reading of the full Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone reading a clause at a time. There is so much there to to inspire us in our fight for social and economic freedom and justice.

At the end the Unison Singers and the Clarion Singers joined together to sing the Internationale. Clarion and Unison in word and deed.

We raised funds for Salus Fatigue Foundation, and SIFA Fireside.

On Wednesday 16th Dec we rounded off the term with more carols at the Loco Lounge in Kings Heath, and a good natter over a drink or two.

So now it is time for rest and reflection, a couple of mince pies and a glass of mulled wine before we start it all over again in 2016.

Merry Christmas from Birmingham Clarion Singers!
